W. Greener started his gun-making business in 1829 and after his death, his son W.W. Greener amalgamated his own gun-making business with his fathers in Birmingham in 1869. They loaded and sold shotshells under the W.W. Greener name but these shells were manufactured for them by the larger companies such as Kynoch and Eley. The W.W. Greener company still exists today.
