U.S. Cartridge Company Headstamps

This page contains United States Cartridge Company shotshell headstamp photos and production date ranges. The date ranges below are not exact but an estimation of production dates based on available information. If you are aware of evidence that proves a date range on a brand of shotshell is incorrect then please email me with a photo of said evidence so I can change the date.

The U.S.C. Co. was founded in 1869 by civil war general Benjamin Butler in Lowell, Massachusetts. The company prospered and was a large supplier of ammunition in WW1. In 1926 Winchester took over the manufacturing of ammunition for U.S.C Co. although it was still headstamped as the latter company. The U.S.C. Co. ammunition was no longer produced by 1942 at the latest.
