William E. Ekins started business in 1878 in Adelaide, Australia when William bought out his business partner R Marjoram. He loaded shells he imported from Eley and other manufacturers, imprinting them with his own headstamps. The business stayed in the Ekins family and in Adelaide until it was wound up in 1967.
